CUOA Business School's history
Fondazione CUOA was established in 1957 by entrepreneur Lino Zanussi within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Padua, as a university center dedicated to the study of business organization, at a historical moment of great ferment for management education in Italy. The first post-diploma specialization course in business organization began in 1958. In 1959 the school became a specialized post-graduate center linked to the Padua Faculty of Engineering, before transforming, in 1970, into a university consortium dedicated to business organization studies, involving numerous northeastern universities including Trento, Trieste, Udine, Venice, Verona and IUAV.
The school later moved to its historic home at Villa Valmarana Morosini in Altavilla Vicentina, a Palladian building that still houses the institution today. Over more than six decades of activity, CUOA has developed relationships with around 3,000 national and international companies and organizations, establishing itself as one of Italy's earliest business schools and a reference point for management education in the northeast, in close dialogue with the Veneto industrial fabric.
