School in Hospital and Home-Based Education

The second-level Master in School in Hospital and Home-Based Education is offered by the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It is organised in 4 multidisciplinary modules with healthcare, pedagogical, psychological and technical skills, and includes hospital and home teaching strategies, management of relations with families and healthcare staff, technologies for distance learning and psychological support for students. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The master is worth 60 credits, for 1,500 hours in total, and is in a weekend format, on Friday mornings and afternoons and Saturday mornings, in Bari and online. The language is Italian. The cost indicated is 1,500 euros VAT included.

The aim is to train teachers for teaching activities with students in hospital care or confined at home, preventing school dropout and guaranteeing the right to education. The career opportunities indicated are hospital medical manager, health educator, teacher trainer, support teacher and school tutor. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience.
