Master in Migration and Intercultural Mediation

The Master in Migration and Intercultural Mediation, indicated as a first-level short master, is offered by the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It addresses migration processes, reception and inclusion systems, the protection of fundamental rights and intercultural mediation techniques, providing concrete operational tools. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

Teaching is online synchronous, on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, based in Taranto. The master lasts 196 hours and is worth 8 credits. The text describes the course as completely free, with an enrolment cost of 0 euros. Upon completion, after passing the final exam, a certificate of attendance is obtained.

The aim is to provide tools to manage reception, inclusion and the protection of rights in multicultural contexts. The career opportunities are in social services, local authorities, the third sector and international cooperation projects, as intercultural mediator, community mediator and social policy specialist. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
