Master’s Degree in Letters

The Master's Degree in Letters is offered by the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. It offers specialist preparation in the main areas of the humanities: linguistics, philology, literature, history, geography and the arts. It provides two curricula, ancient-medieval and modern-contemporary, with interdisciplinary seminars and external internships. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, full-time and in person in Frosinone. The language is Italian. Internships with affiliated bodies are included in the programme.

The aim is to develop critical autonomy and methodological mastery in the philological and literary fields and to acquire skills in history, literary communication and linguistics, as well as IT tools and an additional European language. Career opportunities are schools, cultural heritage, publishing and communication. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
