Master’s Degree in Tourism and Sustainability Management

The Master's Degree in Tourism and Sustainability Management is offered by the University of Cagliari. The programme combines economic, managerial, anthropological, environmental, computer-statistical and legal disciplines, with lectures, practical sessions, group work and analysis of real cases. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, divided into four semesters, and is full-time and in person in Cagliari. The language is Italian, with a B1 English requirement. The training internship is compulsory and included in the programme.

The aim is to train managers and consultants able to guide tourism towards sustainable development, with skills in interpreting tourism data and assessing socio-environmental impacts. Career opportunities include tourism manager, tourism development consultant, sustainable tourism expert, tourism data analyst and tourist facility manager. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
