Master’s Degree in Philosophical Sciences

The Master's Degree in Philosophical Sciences is offered by the University of Catania, Department of Humanities. The programme offers two curricula, historical-philosophical and philosophical-scientific, and includes lectures, seminars, workshops, and the writing and discussion of texts. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, full-time and in person in Catania. The Department promotes internships and workshops, and Erasmus+ mobility is provided.

The aim is to provide advanced preparation in the philosophical disciplines, developing analytical, reflective and communication skills, and to prepare for teaching, research and cultural and educational professions. Career opportunities include teaching, research and the cultural, information and educational sectors. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
