Master’s Degree in Sustainable Innovation in Viticulture and Oenology

The Inter-university Master's Degree in Sustainable Innovation in Viticulture and Oenology is offered by the University of Florence, Department DAGRI, in collaboration with the University of Pisa, with venues in Florence and Pisa. The programme includes precision viticulture, genetic improvement of vineyards, winemaking microbiology, oenological technologies, integrated control of pests and oenological processes with quality control. It includes a compulsory internship at wine-growing companies. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, is worth 120 credits and is delivered in person. English B1 is required. The course is totally free: participation involves no enrolment costs.

The aim is to train professionals able to plan, manage and coordinate all phases of the wine supply chain, from sustainable vineyard management to oenological processes. Career opportunities include wine-growing companies, research bodies, technical consulting and control and promotion bodies in the agri-food sector. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study.
