Curriculum
The Master's Degree in Physics is offered by the University of Insubria. It offers advanced training that integrates theory, experimental physics, microphysics and astrophysics, with an original research thesis. Three curricula are provided: Astrophysics, General Physics and Medical and Experimental Physics. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.
The programme lasts two years, is held in person in Como and is taught entirely in English. The page notes the possibility of an Italian-Swedish double degree with Linnaeus University.
The aim is to prepare graduates for national and international research laboratories, high-technology companies, the insurance and financial sector, secondary school teaching and academic pathways such as the doctorate and specialisation schools. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
