Curriculum

The Master's Degree in Modern Languages for Communication and International Cooperation is offered by the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures of the University of Insubria. It integrates linguistic, legal and technological skills, with specialisations in legal and economic translation and in linguistic-cultural mediation, and includes modules on artificial intelligence applied to translation. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The programme lasts two years and has a mixed format, online and in person, in Como. Two foreign languages are studied from among English, Spanish, German, Chinese and French. No structured compulsory internships are provided.

The aim is to train professionals for international communication and cooperation. The career opportunities indicated are specialist translators, intercultural mediators, interpreters and international communication operators in public and private bodies and international organisations. With 60 additional credits, access to teaching is possible. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
