Master in Prostate Diagnostics

The second-level Master in Prostate Diagnostics, of the University of Bari Aldo Moro, offers multidisciplinary theoretical and practical modules focused on reading multiparametric and biparametric magnetic resonance imaging and on performing transperineal biopsies. The activities include lectures, field exercises and tutoring. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The master lasts one academic year, is worth 60 credits, for 1,508 hours of total commitment, and is taught in person full-time in Bari. The cost is 3,000 euros. Places are limited.

The aim is to train specialists in the diagnosis of prostate cancer according to Italian and European guidelines, avoiding overdiagnosis and overtreatment and encouraging multidisciplinary collaboration. The career opportunities indicated are hospitals, clinics, clinical research and interventional radiology. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
