Master in Cystic Fibrosis: A Multidisciplinary Management Model

The second-level Master in Cystic Fibrosis: A Multidisciplinary Management Model is offered by the Interdisciplinary Department of Medicine (DIM) of the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It has thematic modules on early diagnosis, complex management, pharmacological treatment, physiotherapy and nutritional strategies and nursing care, with lectures, practical exercises and seminar activities. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The format is mixed, in person and online, with an online venue and in Bari. The master lasts one academic year, is worth 60 credits and costs 2,500 euros. Minimum compulsory attendance is 80%. An internship at specialised centres is provided.

The aim is to train healthcare professionals specialised in the integrated management of cystic fibrosis, strengthening clinical skills, interprofessional work and research aptitude. The career opportunities are care coordinator, clinical researcher, coordinating physiotherapist, healthcare trainer and chronic pain management. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience.
