Master in Bovine Health Management

The second-level Master in Bovine Health Management is offered by the University of Bari Aldo Moro. It covers infectious and non-infectious diseases of cattle, reproduction, the prevention of metabolic disorders, sustainable farming techniques and economic and business management aspects. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The format is mixed, weekend, with in-person and online lessons and the possibility of following the theory via Teams, based in Bari. The master lasts one year, is worth 64 credits and costs 3,800 euros. Compulsory attendance is at least 80%. Internships at farms and sector bodies are provided.

The aim is to train veterinarians as strategic consultants for farms, able to manage dairy and meat production with scientific responsibility. The career opportunities are veterinary consultancy for livestock farms, agri-food industries and public and private veterinary services. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
