Master’s Degree in Classical and Modern Philology and Literature

The inter-class Master's Degree in Classical and Modern Philology and Literature is offered by the University of Cagliari. The course combines philology, linguistics and literature, in both classical and modern fields, with lectures, seminars, workshops and practical activities; international exchanges are also provided. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course is full-time and in person in Cagliari.

The aim is to develop critical, linguistic and philological skills for careers in teaching, academic research, cultural consultancy and publishing. Career opportunities include teaching in secondary schools, research, doctoral studies, cultural consultancy, publishing and public competitions. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
