Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development

The Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development is offered by the University of Cagliari, Department of Civil, Environmental Engineering and Architecture. It offers three specialised curricula and combines lectures, practical laboratories and practical sessions, with a focus on sustainable design and environmental protection and an international double degree with Politechnika Krakowska. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, full-time and in person in Cagliari. The language is Italian, with a B1 English requirement. Internship activities and the possibility of international experiences are provided.

The aim is to train environmental engineers able to design, plan and manage complex systems for environmental sustainability, impact assessment and natural resource management. Career opportunities include consultant, engineer, manager, project manager and environmental technician and sustainability officer. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
