Master’s Degree in International Relations

The Master's Degree in International Relations is offered by the University of Cagliari. It combines historical-political, legal and socio-economic knowledge. The first year has an interdisciplinary approach, while the second allows students to choose between pathways in Italian and in English; teaching combines compulsory courses, workshops and alternative training activities. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years, full-time and in person in Cagliari. The language is Italian and English, depending on the pathway. A double degree with Dalarna University, internships with international organisations and placement support are provided.

The aim is to prepare experts who work in diplomacy, international institutions and non-governmental organisations, with transferable skills for complex and multicultural contexts. Career opportunities include diplomat, policy analyst, international relations consultant, international lawyer and international economist. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience.
