Curriculum

The programme offers in-depth training in accounting, finance, law, management and economics, with a profession-oriented approach. Students choose one of three specialisations: Business Management and Consulting, for those who intend to take on managerial or consulting roles; Finance and Financial Markets, for those who want to work in financial analysis and investment management; and Professional Practice, for those aiming at the profession of chartered accountant and auditor. The integration of accounting, financial and legal disciplines makes it possible to read the company as a whole, understanding how financial statements, markets, rules and strategies influence one another, and provides tools for assessing investments, risks and performance.

Teaching has a strongly practical focus and uses business cases, group exercises, presentations and simulations, developed in collaboration with industry professionals. The programme takes place in Bolzano over two years, full time; the main language is Italian, with a share of lessons in a foreign language. Students receive training that is also useful for obtaining major international professional certifications, such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager) and CMA (Certified Management Accountant). For the most outstanding students, a double-degree programme with Baruch College of the City University of New York is available, for which scholarships are provided. The university also awards graduation prizes to the best students in each specialisation and can count on scholarships funded by banking institutions. Contact with professionals, who take part in designing the teaching activities, makes it possible to tackle problems similar to those encountered in a company, bank or firm, developing skills in analysis, synthesis and communication of results.

The aim is to train professionals with solid and up-to-date skills, able to hold positions of responsibility in companies, banks, consulting firms and professional practices. Career opportunities include manager, business consultant, financial analyst, portfolio manager, statutory auditor, chartered accountant and financial risk management specialist. The programme is suited to graduates in economics or business who wish to combine robust technical training with the ability to work in international contexts and to handle complex decisions, in a territory whose multilingual nature offers a particularly stimulating study environment. Preparation for international certifications and the double-degree programme with a US university add distinctive value to the profile, supporting access to internationally oriented companies and financial institutions. Knowledge of several languages and closeness to the local and international professional world are a further competitive advantage.
