Master’s Degree in Pedagogical Sciences

The Master's Degree in Pedagogical Sciences is offered by the Department of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Bergamo. It integrates pedagogical, philosophical, psychological, sociological and anthropological disciplines with compulsory and optional courses, internships and a final exam. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course lasts two years and is worth 120 credits. It is taught in person in Bergamo. The language is Italian; the Diploma Supplement is also available in English on request. Internships are provided in the programme.

The aim is to provide skills in the design, management and evaluation of educational interventions and services and to prepare professionals able to analyse and direct training processes in school contexts and in employment services. The career opportunities are educational consultant, professional educator, teacher trainer, teaching manager, social policy specialist and access to teaching in secondary school. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
