Curriculum

The Master in Anaesthesia, Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care, second level, is offered by the University of Brescia. The programme includes evidence-based medicine, advanced monitoring, clinical pharmacology, management of complex conditions, paediatric emergencies and safe sedation. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The master lasts 12 months and is worth 60 credits, for 1,500 hours: 300 of recorded online classroom teaching, 300 of practical exercises and hospital placement, 700 of individual study and 200 of final test preparation. The locations indicated are Online, Brescia, Bergamo and Milan.

The aim is to train specialists in the anaesthetic and intensive care management of paediatric and neonatal patients, with multidisciplinary skills applied in hospital settings. Career outcomes are operating theatres, intensive care units, radiology departments and paediatric emergency rooms; placements take place at hospital facilities in Lombardy. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
