Admissions

To be admitted to a master's degree you need a bachelor's degree (first-level degree) or an equivalent qualification; the admission assessment criteria, deadlines and required documentation are set by the university in its annual call for applications, which should be read carefully, also to check the language requirements for a programme taught in English. The tuition fee is €1,200 per year, VAT exempt, for a total cost of approximately €2,400 over the two years, to which statutory taxes and contributions may be added. Students can apply for scholarships and other services through the Office for the Right to Education of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Those interested should carefully compare the deadlines of each application session.

Curriculum

The programme offers in-depth training in entrepreneurship and innovation, combining advanced theoretical knowledge with authentic learning experiences. The content ranges from the fundamentals of entrepreneurship to innovation management, with particular attention to developing practical skills in design thinking, coding and prototyping. From the first semester, students take common compulsory courses, including Growth Mindset and Foundations of Entrepreneurship, and become familiar with BITZ, the university's fablab, where ideas can be turned into prototypes. The programme is not limited to transmitting knowledge: students are asked to experiment, build and test their own ideas, developing a growth-oriented attitude and the ability to manage the uncertainty typical of the early stages of a business.

Teaching is spread over four semesters and comprises sixteen courses plus the final thesis. After the initial semester, from the second onwards students choose between two tracks: Entrepreneurship, designed for those who wish to found their own start-up, and Innovation and Management, aimed at those who aspire to work in innovative companies. In the fourth semester the programme is completed with the Project LAB, in either the Startup or the Corporate Innovation version, alongside the final thesis. Classes are held full time in an international classroom, with English as the language of instruction and about 35% of faculty coming from abroad. The programme includes training internships abroad at international companies and annual study trips to major entrepreneurial ecosystems, including Silicon Valley, Lisbon, Berlin, Tallinn, New York, Iceland, Oslo and Toulouse. The choice between the two tracks in the second semester makes it possible to tailor the education to individual ambitions, while the study trips offer opportunities for networking and for meeting entrepreneurs, investors and researchers from very different contexts.

The aim is to prepare people able to create new businesses or to lead innovation from within established organisations. The university reports that over the past few years more than fifteen start-ups have been co-founded by students and alumni of the programme, confirming its practical orientation. Career opportunities include founding new businesses, roles in innovative companies, consulting and managing family businesses. The programme is therefore suited to graduates interested in developing an entrepreneurial spirit, a growth-oriented mindset and the ability to turn ideas and technologies into sustainable projects, working in international teams and in rapidly changing contexts. The resulting profile combines strategic vision, operational skills and sensitivity to market needs, qualities increasingly in demand both for those starting a business and for those leading innovation projects in large companies.
