Master’s Degree in Movement Science for Health and Wellbeing

The Master's Degree in Movement Science for Health and Wellbeing is offered by the University of Brescia, at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences. The programme integrates the knowledge of the motor, biomedical and pedagogical disciplines, with the idea of using physical exercise as a tool of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in educational and healthcare settings. The pathway is aimed at those who wish to deepen and update their skills, with a structure that links theoretical reflection to concrete applications in the relevant professional context.

The course is two years long, full-time and in person in Brescia. Teaching combines lectures, practical activities, workshops and compulsory training internships worth 20 credits. The language is Italian, with a B1 English requirement.

The aim is to train professionals able to promote physical exercise and to design personalised physical activity programmes. Career outcomes include school physical education, health promotion and primary prevention, with guidance and placement services. Upon completion, those who successfully finish the pathway obtain the qualification provided and can use the skills acquired in their own professional field or in further study. Concrete prospects nevertheless depend on each participant's starting profile and experience. Those who work should carefully assess the commitment required, in terms of weekly hours and attendance, to understand whether the programme is compatible with other professional or personal commitments.
